Application Requirements
Participation with a paper
Papers should present the results of original research carried out with modern research methodology. Papers can usually be summarized in 15-20 PowerPoint presentation slides and presented within 15-20 min. As a rule, the average presentation at a round table lasts 5 to 7 min. The program for sessions and roundtables at the conference will be formed according to requests.
Working languages are Russian and English. Simultaneous translation will be available during all plenary and most session meetings
Participants are invited to submit extended abstracts of their research papers for presentation at the Conference sessions. Submissions will be accepted from September 17, 2014 till November 11, 2014, only through on-line registration. After the registration each participant will be provided with personal profile which will serve as an interface between the participant and the Organizing Committee.
A detailed summary of the proposed presentation should be attached to the application, in Word or RTF file, in 1-3 pages with 1.5 line spacing (up to 7000 symbols). The summary should outline the issue, show the level of the research, include characteristics of the research (theoretical or empirical type of the work, its informational base), as well as its main results. Abstracts which are less than 1 page in length will not be accepted.
Once they have completed on-line registration before November 11, 2014, a group of applicants may inform the Conference Program Committee if they wish to submit their papers in one session. Participants can do this by sending an email to interconf@hse.ru with information about the title of the proposed session; speakers (no more than 3 - 4, already registered as individual applicants) and the topic of the research, as well as the name and contact information (phone and e-mail address) of the supposed chairperson of the session. Each applicant may submit one individual paper and not more than two co-authored papers. In one session there can be no more than two papers submitted from the same organization. The duration of a session is 1.5 hours. Proposals for the formation of such sessions will be considered by the Program Committee during the papers' review and the formation of the Conference program.
The Program Committee will announce their decision on which papers to include in the Conference program by January 20, 2015, taking into account the results of the review by independent experts. After the review a preliminary program will be available online. Participants whose papers are included in the program have until February 3, 2015to confirm their participation through their personal profile. Without such confirmation the paper will be excluded from the program.
Authors of papers included in the Conference program will be requested to send full-text versions (in Word, RTF or PDF file) by March 5, 2015 for publication on the Conference website. At the end of the conference the Higher School of Economics will prepare and issue a conference e-volume, containing all papers which were presented. Final versions of the papers should be sent by May 20, 2015 (20, 000 symbols with spaces in Word, RTF or PDF file). The decision about their publication in the Conference e-volume will be made by the editorial board. Papers not presented at the Conference will not be considered for publication.
Participants from the CIS and Eastern Europe countries whose papers are included in the program may apply for a grant from the Moscow Office of the World Bank to compensate travel or accommodation expenses. All applications should be sent at interconf@hse.ru until February 10, 2015.
